The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) measures critical reading skills, math problem solving skills and writing skills. It is a standardized test used to prepare students for the SAT and gives them a chance to enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) scholarship programs.
Students can also take the PSAT to:
- Compare their performance against others applying to college
- Realize their academic strengths and weaknesses
- Receive information from colleges (This service is available when students check “yes” to Student Search Service)
Colorado Cyber offers this test. Tenth graders may receive a voucher from the state for the PSAT.
