"This on-line opportunity is perfect for him because no one needs to see when he is struggling and he can get help privately." - Marilyn Armstrong

"We just wanted to take a few moments and update you on Collin. He is a freshman at Regis and doing great. He made the Honor Role for the first grading period this semester. We are grateful that he had the chance to experience the Douglas County School District on-line curriculum last year. While still having the guidance and support of experienced teachers, he was able to develop independent study habits, acquire and build time management skills, and cultivate creative thought processes that have given him so much confidence going into high school. Thanks again for assisting him and us through a challenging middle school year." - Mary and Jim Jostes

"Since the school year is coming to a close, I wanted to take a moment to share my feelings about eDCSD.

As a parent, providing my children with a quality eduction has always been my highest priority and that has not always been an easy task. Then I was lucky enough to discover eDCSD. I am thrilled with this program. What a relief that my children now have an option that allows them to focus on education instead of all of the drama that exists in brick-and-mortar schools. I know there have been some growing pains with this first year and sometimes I could become frustrated with those, but I would not have traded this experience for anything in the world. I cannot wait until my other son gets to start eDCSD next year.

It has been such a joy watching Graham become excited about learning again. There was definitely an adjustment process, as he had to learn a new way to learn, but now that he has the hang of it I know I am going to see him continue to grow in leaps and bounds. I wish that he had more of an opportunity to participate in the field trips that were offered, but that is more challenging with us being out of the district. I truly hope I will be able to get him to more of these next year.

I also want to say that the teachers are amazing. It thrills me to find teachers so committed to their students. These are truly educators invested in their students' success - I was beginning to wonder if there were any left in Colorado. I could not ask for a better group of teachers than Mrs. Granas, Mr. Harding, Mrs. Rierson and Mrs. Nehring, and of course Mrs. Smith. You all have been such a blessing. Graham will truly be a better person for having known each of you. I have more consistent communication from these teachers than any Graham has had in the past.

The curriculum is outstanding as well. Having some previous experience with Douglas County schools, I already knew that it has some of the best curriculum around, and that has carried over to eDCSD. I know my son has learned more this year than he ever has at any other school, and he has truly been challenged.

I just wanted to close with a great big THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I know that as teachers this is not something you hear nearly enough, and in the case of the eDCSD staff, it is truly well deserved.

Sincerely,
Monique Milburn"
